31st July 2024 was a momentous day here at TMO Highways with the us hosting BSI for our Stage 1 assessment for our ISO39001 Road Traffic Safety.
Our Road Traffic Safety working party welcome John Appleby into the business to asses our status as we look to become fully accredited in a subject particularly close to our hearts, especially after recent events.
A culmination of 6 months work has got us to this point and we happily presented John with our Road Traffic Safety policy, our RTS Management System a set of 10 key objective we wish to hit over the next 3 years as well as some minor improvements that we have already launched within the business.
We have been assisted by the extremely talented Dave Conway from Prepared-4 who was introduced to us by our trusted external consultant Rob Williams. Working with Dave has been an absolute delight, with his passion and focus instantly appealing to us. Since day one he has pushed us to put together and effective and high class management system which will actually result in safer conditions for not only our drivers but for other road users impacted by the 2 million miles we do each year as a business. Historically we have focussed our attentions to making the actual roadworks themselves safe but when we totted up how many miles we do each year getting to and from those sites it was clear that extra focus was required. We are 100% confident that our skilled traffic management operatives operating across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, London and The Midlands will see the benefits in us obtaining our 39001 status.
We now push onto the final assessment which is scheduled for December 2024.
