We’re delighted to announce that TMO Highways has once again successfully passed its annual BSI surveillance audits for ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management)
TMO passed with zero non-conformities raised. This achievement reflects the strength of our Integrated Management System and the commitment shown every day by our teams across the business.
For us, these certifications are far more than badges on a wall. They provide the framework that helps us consistently deliver safe, compliant and high-quality traffic management and
event managment solutions across motorways, high-speed dual carriageways, rural roads and urban networks. Our management system is designed to integrate quality, environmental responsibility and health & safety into every decision we make, ensuring that our customers, workforce, supply chain and the public remain at the heart of our operations.
ISO 9001 drives our focus on quality, customer satisfaction and continual improvement. ISO 14001 ensures we actively manage and reduce our environmental impacts while supporting sustainable operations. ISO 45001 provides the structure that helps us protect our people, contractors and members of the public through robust health, safety and wellbeing management practices. Together, these standards form the backbone of our Integrated Management System, helping us make informed, evidence-based decisions every day.
Our certification is supported by a comprehensive programme of performance monitoring and objective setting. Throughout the year we review a wide range of measures including training and competence, accident and incident performance, site compliance audits, environmental performance, customer satisfaction, operational KPIs and continual improvement activities. We actively use this information to identify trends, assess risk, implement corrective actions and drive real-time decision making throughout the business. Our objectives include maintaining our accreditations, delivering regular compliance audits, reducing operational risk, developing our people through training and improving the way we report and analyse HSEQ data across the organisation.
Passing the audits with no non-conformities demonstrates the maturity of our systems, but more importantly, it demonstrates the culture that exists throughout TMO Highways. Every member of staff plays a part, whether that is completing site paperwork correctly, reporting near misses, identifying improvement opportunities, caring for the environment, maintaining high standards on-site or supporting colleagues to work safely and efficiently.
A special thank you goes to Ryan Smith whose dedication and hard work as HSEQ Officer has played a significant role in helping us maintain and improve our management systems over recent years. As Ryan moves into his new role as Planning Assistant, we would like to thank him for the professionalism, commitment and positivity he has brought to the position and wish him every success in the next stage of his career.
We would also like to recognise @James Harden CMIOSH CMgr, our new HSEQ Manager, for seamlessly taking the reins and continuing the excellent standards that have become synonymous with TMO Highways. James has already made a significant impact in strengthening our systems and performance monitoring, helping ensure our excellent record continues.
Most importantly, thank you to every member of the TMO Highways team. Achievements such as this are not the result of a few days of auditing but of twelve months of hard work, professionalism and commitment. Maintaining world-class management systems requires everyone pulling in the same direction, and this result is a reflection of the standards that our people demonstrate every single day.
Zero non-conformities. Three internationally recognised standards. One committed team.
A fantastic achievement and one that gives our customers, stakeholders and workforce continued confidence that TMO Highways remains committed to delivering safe, sustainable and high-quality traffic management services across the UK.
