Monday saw the very first St Neots depot operative start with TMO Highways.
Linden Rice will play a key part in the opening of our new depot to service the Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire areas following the award of the UKPN primary supplier status last month.
The advert for LANTRA qualified operatives was only up a week due to the incredible amount of interest from throughout East Anglia. We were able to successfully recruit the initial 3x members of staff required from over 40 applicants. As with moving in to any new area we were concerned that our name might not be synonymous with traffic management in those geographical areas however we were happy to be proven wrong. TMO’s reputation for high quality setups, equipment and treatment of staff reaches far and wide and the successful applicants were grateful to be able to join the TMO family.
We caught up with Operations Director Ben Green following Lindon’s induction….
It was really pleasing to hear that people in the Westerly regions of East Anglia had heard about TMO and it’s culture. What we have found is that word quickly spread that TMO had opened a new depot and we were looking for staff, from then on the applications came flooding in. We can now use these new staff to vet out any new applicants they may have heard of or worked with in the area before we then formally interview them ourselves. We have found that staff referrals often lead to the most success as our team know the type of person we are looking for at TMO, that being a hard working & passionate member of staff who will bring their ‘A-Game’ every day.
The St Neots depot will be our fourth operational depot alongside Eye in Suffolk, Wisbech in Cambridgeshire and Witham in Essex. The satellite depot in Pulham Market, Norfolk also enables our operational delivery acting as a base for kit and repairs. We have seen a steady flow of both planned and emergency works coming in for the new region and we welcome and new clients who wish to engage with our services.
