TMO Donates broken cones to Jimmys Farm

In a creative and heartwarming twist on recycling, TMO Highways has donated a batch of used traffic cones to Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park — not for roadworks, but for the polar bears!

As part of the company’s ongoing efforts to reduce waste and support local communities, TMO Highways offered up a collection of retired traffic cones that were no longer road-worthy but still perfectly safe for alternative use. Jimmy’s Farm, located near Ipswich, (https://jimmysfarm.com/) was more than happy to accept — and their polar bear residents are even happier.

It turns out traffic cones make excellent enrichment toys for large animals like polar bears. The sturdy cones are great for pushing, tossing, and even using as chew toys, helping to keep the bears stimulated and active in their enclosures.

TMO Highways’ team is thrilled to see the cones put to such a fun and meaningful second use.

The initiative is a perfect example of how even the most ordinary objects — like traffic cones — can find new life with a bit of imagination and community spirit!

“It’s not every day your old traffic cones end up bringing joy to polar bears, We’re proud to support local wildlife and contribute to sustainability in a small but creative way.”
