TMO Highways take part in environmental work day

The wildlife trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire welcomed Octavious who invited ourselves, Tarmac Ltd & Cambridgeshire Highways to do some essential scrub clearance.

Fulborn Fen, an area of special scientific interest was the venue for a working party of 15 hardy souls who braved the rain to ensure the longevity of the fenland by keeping back pesky scrub and brambles.

Mark Haysman, Ben Green, Dave Kingsbury, Kieron Ruddy & Jay Cooper armed themselves with some tree poppers and spent 6 hours working alongside our clients and nature experts to give back to the local area. The day was a huge success with a massive area being cleared ensuring the land can continue to be used for grazing and supporting the local nature infrastructure. Whilst there was a task at hand these days also act as a huge positive for mental wellbeing. Our staff had a day away from the computers, emails and deadlines and found the fresh area and relaxed atmosphere beneficial.

With us moving into the St Neots area we felt further compelled to work alongside the Bedfordshire & Cambridgeshire wildlife trust. Our new depot has gotten off to a great start and assisted with us delivering our usual high quality traffic management within East Anglia and beyond.
