We are happy to announce that a further 5x operatives to our ranks further bolstering our ability to service our ever growing client list.
We have recently obtained new traffic management projects and schemes within East Anglia and North London. Our Commercial team along with our Business Development Manager have been busy drumming up new work and ensuring our clients requirements are met.
One particular contract has seen us need up to 20 more operatives on a weekly basis and we have been pushing hard to recruit quality staff who we can teach them the ‘TMO Way’. We were inundated with applicants both trained and untrained and we had the hard task of sorting though their relevant applications.
We have found that although the natural option would seem to be employ carded operatives over trainees however we have found that carded operatives whilst they may be qualified this doesn’t always translate into being competent or sometimes they come with bad habits which are hard to break. The trainee route has seen a much better yield with the latest batch of trainees being of a particular high quality. The stream of new blood into the business has reinvigorated the entire workforce and has allowed some more of our more senior operatives to undertake training on a one-to-one basis.
Terry Simpson our Senior Operations Manager has been delighted with the results of the trainee scheme in recent times and can only see it going from strength to strength.
“We had a sit down as a Senior Management Team along with the Directors and it became clear that the increased demand must never put our operational ability under strain. The last thing we wanted was for our existing clients to see a change in our service ability due to our ongoing wish to grow. Rather than waiting for us to push our capacity a clear 3 phase recruitment plan was launched. The initial stage was completed in 4 weeks, phase two was rolled out 6 weeks later and with the next batch of 5x starters we are now seeing the completion of the third and final stage. We are already seeing the results with these ops growing from strength to strength week after week, some of these operatives are already looking to be the lead ops on our new contract”
