Ashley Hall-Smith recently passed his Institute of Highways Engineers Temporary Traffic Management Engineer Diploma.
Ashley has been working hard over the past 12 months and learning a lot along the way.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate a fantastic achievement from one of our own. A huge congratulations to Ashley Hall Smith who has successfully passed his Institute of Highways Engineers Temporary Traffic Management Engineer Diploma.
This year long programme required real dedication from Ash who completed an intensive six-day course in Birmingham followed by thirteen written assignments of three thousand words each. The learning covered highways legislation, highways fundamentals, traffic data collection and analysis, temporary traffic systems, vehicle restraint systems, road marking, supporting technology and sign face design principles.
This is a significant professional milestone and a real reflection of Ash’s commitment to developing his technical capability and engineering understanding.
When we spoke with Ash he said….
“I am really grateful to have been given this opportunity to develop professionally. I learnt so much throughout the course and it has encouraged me to think deeper about the designs and drawings I produce. Approaching my work from a wider engineering perspective rather than focusing solely on the basic requirements of Chapter 8 and the Red Book has been invaluable. The level of detail covered throughout the programme was brilliant and it has genuinely given me a new perspective particularly when considering vehicle restraint systems.”
We are delighted to see Ash’s dedication and hard work recognised through this achievement. His enhanced knowledge and engineering insight will continue to bring real value to our teams our clients and our projects.

Ashley’s achievement will help TMO Highways in strengthening our capacity to deliver contracts professionally, competitively, and with minimal impact across Norfolk and Suffolk, Essex and Herts, Bedfordshire and The Midlands, Cambridge and Lincolnshire and London
