Our traffic management operatives throughout East Anglia have signed up to complete the LANTRA Gate Person Airlock Installer/Operator course.

Following our continued growth and diversification of our business we have jumped on the opportunity to sign up our staff on the newly launched LANTRA course focussing on being a Gate Person and Airlock installation.

An airlock system in operation
The course was extremely valuable to me as someone just setting out on my TM journey. I have picked up new bits of knowledge and best practice to allow me to go about working on a gate or airlock with more confidence. This course also had some extremely good pointers on conflict management which I’m looking forwards to trying out next time I’m faced with a situation on site.
Samuel Gasson-Cox, Newly Qualified Lantra Gate Person / Airlock Operative

Working on a gate can be challenging at times with the fast pace that people live to these days. Delays by mean roadworks can infuriate people especially when they are trying to get to or from work. We appreciate that tempers may rise and that is why this investment in our staff is to not only safely setup the positions whilst on a gate but also have the tools to defuse situations which can lead to threat, harm or acts of physical violence. TMO Highways always prioritise getting everyone home safely 365 days a year, and this is just another qualification and investment in our staff which highlight our commitment to do just that.

This course will be rolled out in 3 phases with the first phase being completed on 10th June before the next two batches of courses taking place in late June then early July.

We are always on the lookout for staff to join our team and if you wish to speak to us about working as a gateman or applying for any positions then please get in touch via jobs@tmohighways.co.uk.
