ISO9001, ISO14001,IS45001 audits underway at TMO.

Audit season is upon us again at TMO with BSI undertaking our recertification for our Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety for 2024/2025.

We have been busy managing and improving our integrated systems all year round and we welcome the auditors into the business and embrace and opportunities for improvements that they can give us. Our integrated management system is at the heart of our traffic management business and the data that we capture and monitor allow us to make TMO a better place, whether that be turning up on time to planned works, emergency works and manual controls, monitoring our traffic light breakdowns, the accuracy of our CAD plans, our weekly van idle times, our recycling performance or our accident and absence stats, the system has been crafted to provide quality information that key decisions can be made from.

We have recently expanded our HSEQ team to include Ryan Smith who has moved over from planning to be HSEQ officer. Ryan is now playing a key part in the sign off process for our traffic management operatives across East Anglia. Ryan is now also keying the near misses as we drive the key part reporting plays. He is also undertaking our monthly depot inspections at Eye in Suffolk, Pulham Market in Norfolk, Wisbech in Cambridgeshire, St Neots in Bedfordshire and Witham in Essex. Ryan’s knowledge and skills will grow as he develops into the role but his addition is a welcome move for Operations Director, Ben Green who has been in charge of our IMS for nearly a decade now.

Audit season is upon us but rather than seeing it as a worry and a stress we welcome the opportunity to showcase our system and commitment to the ISO standards. The 3, soon to be 4 (ISO39001) certificates we hold are key to the success and focus of the business. We don’t see them as tickbox exercises, we have embedded them into our everyday work here at TMO. Through careful planning and thought we have created a system which gives us the data we need to improve our service, safety and commitement to the environmental 365 days a year. It’s not just myself and Ryan who drive our performance, we have created a culture where all of our staff buy into our objectives and goals, this isn’t an easy task but through effective top level leadership and good communication we ensure our staff are clear on what direction we are all headed. We look forwards to seeing the results from the audit and to further impliment improvements to the level of traffic management we offer in East Anglia, London and the East Midlands.
Ben Green, Operations Director
