TMO Highways recommended for ISO14001 for another 12 months

Following our annual visit from BSI we are happy that we have once again retained our ISO14001 accreditation. During the 5 day visit we showcased our commitments to reducing our impact on the environment whilst still being able to deliver our high standards that our clients expect from us.

Delivering traffic management across East Anglia and London means we clock up a lot of miles and whilst the electric vehicle technology isn’t quite where it needs to be to run a fleet of 40 flatbeds across such a vast area we do still invest in other areas of business where we can.

Over the past 2 years we have reduced vehicle idle times down from over 900 hours a week to under 100 hours per week. We have upgraded our depot lighting to more efficient LED lighting and fitted motion sensor technology to ensure lights are not left on unnecessarily. We have changed our purchasing policy and ensure that the cones we purchase can be fully recycled at the end of their life along with the recent investment in plastic recyclable frames. We have cut down our paper use by over 50% and have also seen a decrease in water use thanks to our friends at PHS who have installed FlowSaver technology on our urinals. Our recycling scheme is growing strength to strength and we would like to thank our staff for fulling buying in to our pledges for 2023 and beyond.
