The Bypass opened for public use on the 11th August 2025
The much-anticipated Long Stratton Bypass officially opened to the public on 11 August 2025, ahead of schedule. Excited motorists queued up to be among the first to drive along the newly completed route, which now diverts traffic away from the heart of Long Stratton, Norfolk.
Local residents have campaigned for this development for many years, citing the need to ease congestion and improve safety in the village. Their efforts have now paid off, with the bypass promising smoother journeys and a quieter, safer environment for the community.
TMO Highways provided expert traffic management services for this landmark project, working closely with Octavius, the principal contractor responsible for the construction of the bypass (www.octavius.co.uk).
This milestone marks not just the opening of a new road, but the beginning of a new chapter for Long Stratton.
For those who couldn’t be there on the day, this video link captures the historic moment as the first public vehicles travelled the bypass.
